"I don't want to eat that".
Have you ever tried that you child don't like the food you have made and don't even want to taste it ???
Create eating routines and habits.
Like everything with small children it's a very good idea to create routines. All children like routines and it makes your life much easier.
A good meal routine provides a good starting point for the child and this will also regulating the intake according to need. Young children often need meals every 2 - 3 hour. Snacks between meals and soft drinks can take the hunger away from main meals. Being hungry is an important starting point to eat the food you have made and to try new things. It's important to make children try new things and not to accept that they say NO without tasting it. If you start early with this routine they will taste it, and you have to accept a NO after they have tasted it, but sometimes they will get surprised and will actually eat the new meal even though they stated saying NO.
Accepting the NO after they have tasted it, is also important so they learn to be individuals, and they will also learn that a NO is OK after something has been tried. This can also be used in many other cases.
